Shipping and Receiving Clerk

MCL is looking for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join their team
Shipping and Receiving Responsibilities:
- Manages the shipment and receipt of all parts, products, materials, and supplies.
- Determines method of shipment and prepares bills, invoices and other shipping documents
- Receives merchandise - checks and signs delivery slips, and assists with unloading as necessary with Forklift
- Inspects and verifies incoming goods against invoices or other documents, records shortages and rejects damaged goods
- Accepts or returns merchandise according to established company procedures.
- Organizes distribution and shipping of merchandise. Makes necessary verifications against documents, unpacks and routes goods to appropriate storage areas. Handles customer pick-ups.
- May operate forklift to load, unload, transport and store goods
- Contacts resource people for various information. Contacts transport companies and suppliers in order to expedite, trace or return merchandise that does not conform to specifications or purchase orders.
- Assembles containers and crates, packs goods to be shipped and prepares identifying information and shipping instructions
- Takes inventory, maintains storage area, organizes and places stock on shelves. Ensures area is secure at all times.
- Maintains internal record-keeping systems
- Collaborates and communicates with service manager, customer service representatives, shop manager, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
- Tracks and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Promptly unloads trucks and deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables.
- Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately.
- Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
- Provides additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments, and signs off on package slips as required
Shipping and Receiving Qualifications/Skills:
- Scanning and sorting incoming and outgoing stock
- Receiving, stocking, and stacking parts, products, materials, and supplies
- Pulling, packing, and loading parts, products, materials, and supplies
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong sense of time organization and urgency
- Able to work independently and within a team
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Able to operate a Forklift safely and effectively to offload and load freight
- Valid Class “G” license
Working Conditions:
- Most work will be performed in the field, with some work performed in an office environment.
- Able to work outdoors in inclement conditions as required.
- Must be willing to periodically work weekends if required.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $23.00-$27.00 per hour
